EmmaVPN ("EmmaVPN," "we," "us," or "our") operates the EmmaVPN website (https://emmavpn.com) and mobile, desktop, and Mac applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what choices you have.

By creating an account, using the Service, or connecting to our VPN, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

 

1. Our Privacy Commitment

EmmaVPN is designed to help you browse more privately and securely. We collect only the information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

We do not collect, monitor, store, or sell the content of your internet activity, including:

• websites you visit
• browsing history
• DNS query contents
• search terms
• emails, messages, files, or other content transmitted through the VPN tunnel

Before your first VPN connection, the app shows a Data Collection Notice. You must review and accept it before connecting.

 

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Authentication Information

• Email address
• Username or display name
• Password (stored hashed; never plain text)
• Optional security settings: PIN, duress PIN, recovery phrase (hashed/encrypted), 2FA configuration
• Account preferences and subscription status

2.2 VPN Connection Metadata (Non-Content)

• VPN server selected
• Connection start and disconnect times
• Platform (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux)
• Device/app info for support and security (app version, device identifier)
• Approximate server/country context for the server you connect to

This does not include traffic content or browsing behavior.

2.3 Subscription and Payment Information

• Apple App Store / Mac App Store: subscription status, product IDs, transaction references (no full card details)
• Website (Stripe / PayPal): billing status and transaction references (card details handled by payment processor)
• Activation codes: code and plan details to activate your account

2.4 Device and Technical Information

• Device type, OS, app version, language
• IP address at account access or support requests (not linked to VPN browsing)
• Crash/diagnostic data where enabled

2.5 Push Notifications (Optional)

• Push token if you enable notifications

2.6 Advertising (Where Applicable)

• Limited data for ads on some platforms; ATT permission requested on iOS where required

• Information you send when contacting support

 

3. How We Use Your Information

• Create, authenticate, and manage your account
